Okay...maybe not To "die" for....but, I went to this all you can eat Sushi/Seafood place today called TODAI. I don't like buffets of any kind. Sushi ones scare me even more. But, Curtis went to TODAI last time he was in Vegas and loved it. So my pops and I took little Lex today along with a 15% off coupon I had and decided to give it a try.
My Review - I liked it. It had all kinds of food that I would never eat...especially all the crazy cooked stuff...
But believe me, I ate my money's worth in salmon. I think I had 12 pieces of Salmon sushi, and just didn't eat the rice. (There's nothing like knowing there is an endless amount of salmon sushi at your fingertips). I had some crunchy rolls, spicy tuny roll, and miso soup too.
And hey - it's 4 hours later, and I'm not sick. So, I guess Todai is on the approved list of eateries for us.

Hey, um, Kristi. Because I'm a freak who keeps up on these things you should check on this link.
You might wonder if it's really "Todai" for. But then again, I'm not into sushi so much.
I'm just sayin'...don't shoot the messenger! (Laurel ducks)
AAAAAAGGGGHHHH! I'm going to THROW UP! I will never eat there again. VERMIN ACTIVITY? No wonder I had a coupon.
crap. that's bad.
What do you think the "evidence" of vermin was? Where do you think the critical areas were?
To tell you the truth, alot of restaurants have violations like that. What scares me is that "evidence of vermin" is a minor violation.
Austin has eaten there before and is now gagging next to me. Sorry.
Here is the church's review.
Apparently we have evidence of vermin to. Imagine that! (I've only killed 3 cockroaches in the women's bathroom this past week. YUCK)
Well, I thought it tasted great...but when you're dealing with raw fish the idea of roaches and rats is especially NASTY.
The last notices were in October...maybe they've cleaned up their act.
I remember thinking how clean the place looked. AND how void of customers! :)
Too bad. I was all excited about going back again.
I checked out some other restaurants I like...they had some notices, too, but not as bad as Todai.
Don't get me started on this one! I've been dealing with the Board of Health and a testy dish machine for the last three days. Truth be told, you'd be hard pressed to find any restaurant that did not have any violations. Minor ones aren't really that bad but major ones are a little scary. Orange County standards are very high. A dry clean towel on a counter, a light bulb out, a leaky faucet, cracked coving tile, a dented can are all things that you could get dinged for.
Vermin Activity is usually rat/mice droppings, chewed cardboard used for nests or oily residue from cockroaches
Minor violation are issues that need to be addressed but don't cause an immediate health risk.
A major violation needs immediate attention and could pose a health risk; these are usually temperature violations - cold food being held above 41 degrees or hot food being held below 140 degrees.
Now if the evidence of vermin activity was found IN the food - that would be a major violation.
Are you sure those were black sesame seeds?
Enough Sake can kill most bacteria.
in the spirit of weanies...i really don't want to hear the word "vermin" again. ever.
