Mr. Rogers made me cry.....

Blame it on sleep exhaustion or emotional exhaustion...the kids are still sick. No one is better...they are just laying around like limp noodles. So, we are taking in our fair share of kids tv. We caught the end of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood today, when Mr. Rogers was getting ready to leave his little house...you remember this song...

It's such a good feeling to know you're alive.
It's such a happy feeling: You're growing inside.
And when you wake up ready to say,
"I think I'll make a snappy new day."
It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling,
The feeling you know that we're friends.

When he was singing, I teared up....at first I thought it was the irony of him saying "to know you're alive", knowing he passed away...
Maybe it was the surreal moment of watching something on tv with my kids that I watched as a kid...
Maybe it was that my kids are so sick and are not having a "snappy new day."

I'm not quite sure what it was...but I never thought Mr. R would make me cry.

Here is to hoping the kids feel better soon...or Elmo might cause me an emotional breakdown.

Oh Kristi...I feel for you! I can totally relate. Before you know it, they'll be having a "Snappy new day" and the shadows of today will be gone. For now though--do your best, fret about nothing and know that God's got your back.

(P.S. The irony of your post is that Travis watched Mr. Roger's yesterday for the first time ever. He was totally absorbed.)

Kristi! I feel for you - I'm praying for all of you... This will pass soon.... And until it does - start watching shows like the Doodlebops or Calliou. No danger of crying there - although, you may find yourself facing some rage issues because they are so irritating...

Fred was a master. He knew what got the kids and what got the parents. He proves his genius again in your household from the grave. He got you as a kid. He got you as an adult. If he's still in syndication, he'll get you as a grandparent. I'll bet on it. Feel better....all of you. And soon you can be snappy again. In the meantime, you can use the latest slang that's probably old by now...."SNAP!"....in this case, not a good thing.

Hi Kristi...I'm so sorry about your little ones. I know how your heart breaks to see your precious babies sick. Remember Phil. 4:13.
We're praying for you all! Love you, Stacey
