MAJOR DILEMMA.

No...seriously...This is big.


Here's the thing. I live in the land of no air-conditioning.  I also live in the land of 'I need Coffee every morning to survive.'  

So here are my issues.

1) I don't drink coffee until around 10 am which gives me time to have breakfast and adequate amounts of water in my system.  At 10am, it is quite toasty in my house. But sadly, I am not willing to wake up at 6am to push this schedule back.  

....which leads me to....

2) Starbucks iced coffees.  I literally got dressed this morning to go to Starbucks and get a iced caramel macchiato.  That's $3.70  My wallet can't afford this every morning people.  

I could make my own iced coffees but they do not taste so good. 

Unless you have any good suggestions...(stop drinking coffee will not be accepted as a good suggestion)....I think the only solution is for me to apply for the morning shift at Sbux. 

Any thoughts?

Ooh, $3.70 a day could turn into a very expensive problem very fast. :)

The key to a good iced coffee, is make the coffee 50% stronger than usual the night before and refrigerate it. That way the coffee is already cold the next morning when you add your milk and ice (and the ice won't melt and make it watery). Cost Plus World Market has Torani syrups (including caramel).

hmmm...lower your coffee standards. it's possible, I swear! I was barista for 4 1/2 years, and made my coffee to perfection. Now I drink a cup of Fritz's "Fried Nerve Endings" every morning at work. Its sad but free! I don't mind so much anymore.

I have a couple of friend's that their spouses are employed by Sbux' morning shift. It is E-A-R-L-Y.

You could also do the half coffee half hot chocolate to make a little mocha. Since you love the white chocolate mocha's so much, get yourself some hot white chocolate mix and do a little coffee/cocoa mix.

Alli and Carrie are right - you can make it yourself if you use the right method and product.... also, Smart and Final sells the syrups (also in Sugar Free) and so does all the major grocery stores (Smith's, Von's etc.) I store my cold coffee in old glass milk jugs, it makes it super cold by morning - honest, it's yummy and super cheap - I even use Starbuck's coffee from Costco and grind it myself at home for that fresh taste :)

Its an upfront investment, but in all seriousness, you'll save serious coin by buying your own espresso machine and making them at home.

I bought a real machine (gaggia) about 4 years ago and make a daily latte for about 50 cents in materials now. Tastes better too, in my humble opinion.

Of course, you'll have to get an insider at SBs to sneak you some white mocha syrup, but they'll sell the caramel over the counter.

anyway, its more work, but hard to beat the budget morning joe at home....
