THIS IS NOT OKAY.

I've always been a fan of Chris Brown. I'm sad that I won't get to see him perform anymore. But this is not okay.

I hope he gets the help he needs.

I hope this is a wake up call to anyone else out there that would even think about hurting someone they love.

Domestic Violence is NOT okay.

you're right. it isn't okay. even worse is that he's repeating the same patterns that he witnessed as a kid. i won't make excuses for him, but he's a product of his environment. as a teenager, he watch his mother routinely beaten by boyfriends. in one article i read, he even commented on the psychological trauma that resulted recalling moments as a teenager where he'd soil himself overcome by fear. that was only a few years ago for him.

Dionne's comment really made me think. I wonder why we as humans tend to fall into patterns with extremely painful things that we experience and even hate. Doesn't excuse it, just makes me wonder. Especially with things as destructive as physical and sexual abuse. It is very sad.
PS- Kristi, I just wrote you a comment on yesterday's post. didn't know if you go back and check so thought I'd tell you.

I really just can't imagine doing that. Especially if I had witnessed it in my own family! But, I guess people tend to stick with what they know, even if it involves some pretty horrible things. Makes me sad.
