I've Scarred my Daughter.

This morning the trash truck came by. I jokingly asked Lexi if I should take her outside and let the trash man take her away. She looked at me with sad eyes and said "No mommy. No trash truck take me." Of course, I felt awful and kissed all over and said that I would never let anyone take her away.

We passed by another trash truck later in the day and she said "No trash truck take me mommy." She must have said it 50 times.

I was gone tonight. I came home and Curtis said "You've scarred your daughter....anytime she heard a truck pass by, she said "No Trash Truck take me daddy."

I am a horrible mom.

Poor Lex and poor Mommy. I know that makes you sad. But you can take heart in the fact that she'll forget about it soon.

That is seriously funny! Enjoy it for now and know that she really won't remember it. However, they may have to uncover it through years of therapy for garbage truck aversion later on.

Not a terrible mom. If we had a nickel for everything we wish we wouldn't have said we could pay for your house in cash! She'll recover. I say you have to save money for your children in two funds: their education and their therapy.

I think it's because you were making fun of Grand-dad for scarring Hailey in her dreams.......in 5 yrs you will be able to remind them of this and not only will they not remember but they will laugh at it. :)

That's so funny it's actually sad. Or the other way around. Either way...shame on you!

Just don't tell her that the police are after her and make her pack a suitcase and hide under the bed. That will scar her too---I KNOW from experience!

For all comment readers: Jennifer's SISTER is the one who told her the police were after her--not her parents!

btw... my youngest sister loved her binky and she was getting a little old for it. My mom made her throw it away and she watched the garbage take it away. She hated him for years!! I think she still does. She is 22.

If she needs to talk, you have my number, right?

no you are not--If anyone is, it must be me. I scared my child out of the bath tonight by refilling the tub (at her request) sadly the water was cold-she FREAKED and just about jumped out of the tub.

Okay, that's kind of funny. One morning Mark left for work just as the trash man pulled away, and Jafta was certain they had Mark in the back.
